Happy World Book Day to the UK! I’m just finishing the preparations for my school visit today. It’s exciting to think what the children might come up with, creating characters, stories and new ideas…. Don’t forget to find my page at

It originated in Catalonia over 90 years ago, where roses and books were given as gifts to loved ones on St. George’s Day.  Now in the UK and Ireland we celebrate it on the first Thursday in March.  I have been invited by a primary school in Colne, Lancashire, to visit and work with some of the children there.  Part of my visit involves setting a short story competition for the children.  It’s exciting to think what they might come up with – every day is a new adventure in the world of stories and books!  I’ll let you know what happened later in the week.  You never know, there could be the next Rowling, Tolkien or even Shakespeare out there…
